Saturday of 7th Week of Easter – Festival of Holy Spirit – God’s Word for Today

(John 7:37-39)

Gospel of The Day

From the Gospel according to John

Jn 7: 37-39

37On the last day of the feast, the great day, Jesus stood up and cried out,“If anyone thirsts, let him come to me and drink. 38 Whoever believes in me, as the Scripture has said, ‘Out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.’” 39 Now this he said about the Spirit, whom those who believed in him were to receive, for as yet the Spirit had not been given, because Jesus was not yet glorified.

Dear People of God,

In the words of God in today's Gospel, Jesus revealed to people that the Holy Spirit is the source of life for people. Before ascending to heaven, Jesus Christ promised to send the Holy Spirit as the Paraclete to mankind. Was the Holy Spirit worked on people when Jesus Christ ascended to heaven? Dear: no?

From the very beginning of the creation of the world, the Holy Spirit has been in the heart of every person: when God created man from dust and breathed life into it, the earth became a man with soul and body. Indeed, the Holy Spirit is always at work with man, but in the time of creation he was not as clearly present as the Son of God who became man. The Holy Spirit is the strength, the spirit, the life for man. All who wish to have eternal life should come to God, to the fountain of life which is the Holy Spirit. As Jesus Christ said: “Whoever thirsts, let him come to me! Whoever believes in me, come and drink! for from his bosom will flow rivers of living water.”

When it comes to the Holy Spirit, it must be said that Jesus Christ is God who became man and the connection with God the Father, the Trinity is always one God united with each other. To have the power of the Holy Spirit, people need to listen to and obey God the Father through Jesus Christ. The Holy Spirit unites with the Father and the Son to give life to man.

Recall that in the time of creation, man had life because of the spirit of the Holy Spirit and the Holy Spirit would raise the body of the latter day. As God's Word says in the Bible about the story of "dry bones": When Edekiel was told by God about the dry bones that would rise, that is: the bodies of the dead, through the Spirit of the Holy Spirit will cause that dry skeleton to rise with the soul at the last day. It is the second coming of the Lord's glory. The written Word of the Bible will certainly come true. Therefore, Catholicism has always believed that there is an eternal life in the afterlife, and the body will be resurrected.

It is the Holy Spirit who makes people one with one another, praising God, and speaking the word of God. Through the power of the Holy Spirit, man will do what God wants. If anyone knows how to listen to the words of Jesus Christ and open their hearts to receive the spirit of the Holy Spirit, they will gain strength and power over the demons of Satan, will be resurrected on the last day as Jesus Christ himself died. born and will have eternal life with God the Father.

In preparation for the Feast of Pentecost on the apostles, as well as on all those who are calling on the strength and power of the Holy Spirit, today is the Feast of Advent, God wants to tell man knows: from the fullness of Jesus Christ will flow the fountain of life. The Spirit of the Holy Spirit will descend on all who believe in Jesus Christ as the dead and risen God. When He sends down the Holy Spirit upon mankind, all who open their hearts will receive the power and strength of the Holy Spirit within them plainly and clearly. God will let that person feel how the power and activity of the Holy Spirit is in his own being. When the Holy Spirit comes to work in your heart and body, no enemy can snatch your soul from the hand of God the Father.

Thanks be to God. Amen.
